Under Eye Treatments: What Are Your Options to Regain Youthful Eyes?

Under eye treatments are in high demand because of a problem that haunts a lot of women and even men: dark circles, undereye bags, and other blemishes around the eyes. Although they aren't usually physically painful, they can have a huge negative impact on a person's self confidence and self esteem.

They can make you look tired, even if you've had enough sleep and they are a huge contributor to making you look much older than you really are. But do you just have to live with them? Are there any effective under eye treatments? Do we have a choice?

If you are looking to reduce the dark circles, puffiness and bags under your eyes, you may be interested to know there are number of under eye treatments available. Here are the main three solutions:

Home Remedies: There are multiple home remedies that work as effective under eye treatments, however, there are probably a lot more that don't offer any benefit what-so-ever. One method is to put slices of cucumber or teabags in the freezer. Once they are cold enough, simply lay them on your eyes for 15 - 20 minutes. This is one of the most commonly used natural remedies, probably because it's one of the few that does actually work. However, it's a very short term solution offering only temporary relief. Still, it's worth a try.

Surgery: One such cosmetic procedure is known as the surgical eyelift. Although the most expensive of all under eye treatments, it is the most permanent. Unfortunately, the procedure costs thousands to have it performed by a professional cosmetic surgeon, making it inaccessible for the average person. The good news though, is that you might not have to go that extreme anyway. There's another alternative:

Under Eye Cream: An under eye cream or serum proves a good alternative to surgery, but you have to make sure you are using the correct product for the task. A lot of companies will market their products as "anti-aging", but they don't really target the main cause of the dark rings and puffiness around your eyes. Many products - such as your average concealer - may "mask" the problem, but they do nothing to really solve the problem for the long-term. You want a cream that actually firms your skin, restores its elasticity and improves your skin's structure at the cellular level.

So there are your options. It all really depends on the severity of the dark rings, wrinkles, and puffiness around your eyes, how much effort you're willing to go to, and your budget. And of course, how squeamish you are! For the average person, an under eye cream is probably the most suitable.

Again, look for something that actually works at improving your under eye skin by firming the skin, restoring its elasticity and working at a cellular level. Here's a good example of a serum that does all three: Xtend-Life's Eye Contour Serum. Learn all about this New Zealand-based nutraceutical company's under eye treatments today.
